Publications

This section documents the scientific output produced with the support of GridUnesp computational resources, as well as the guidelines for citing the cluster in academic work.

Citation Policy

As established in the Usage Policy, all work that uses GridUnesp resources must include an explicit acknowledgment.

Requirement

Citation is mandatory for:

  • Scientific articles in journals

  • Conference proceedings

  • Theses and dissertations

  • Undergraduate final projects

  • Posters and presentations at events

  • Technical reports

  • Books and book chapters

Important

Proper citation is essential to:

  • Justify investments in computational infrastructure

  • Obtain funding for upgrades and maintenance

  • Demonstrate the impact of GridUnesp on scientific output

  • Strengthen Unesp’s position in the HPC landscape

Acknowledgment Templates

For publications in English:

"This research was supported by resources supplied by the Center for
Scientific Computing (NCC/GridUNESP) of the São Paulo State University (UNESP)."

For publications in Portuguese:

"Esta pesquisa tornou-se possível graças aos recursos computacionais
disponibilizados pelo Núcleo de Computação Científica (NCC/GridUNESP)
da Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)."

Where to include it:

  • In articles: Acknowledgments section

  • In theses: acknowledgments page or dedicated section

  • In presentations: acknowledgments slide or footer

  • In posters: acknowledgments section

Reporting Publications

Procedure

After publishing the work, the user should send an email to support.ncc@unesp.br with the following information:

Required data:

  1. Full title of the work

  2. Authors (complete list)

  3. Journal/event where it was published

  4. Year of publication

  5. DOI (Digital Object Identifier) or permanent link

  6. Type of publication:

    • Journal article

    • Conference proceedings

    • Doctoral thesis

    • Master’s dissertation

    • Undergraduate final project

    • Book/book chapter

    • Poster/presentation

    • Other (specify)

Additional information (recommended):

  • PDF file of the work (when permitted by copyright)

  • Abstract of the work

  • Acknowledgment of GridUnesp following the template (for verification)

  • Associated project

Email example:

Subject: New publication using GridUnesp

Dear team,

I am reporting a new publication produced with GridUnesp support:

Title: Large-scale molecular dynamics analysis of proteins
Authors: Silva, J.P.; Santos, M.A.; Oliveira, R.T.
Journal: Journal of Computational Chemistry
Year: 2025
DOI: 10.1002/jcc.12345
Type: Journal article

The acknowledgment was included as required by the usage policy.

Associated project: Computational Biophysics (coordinator: Prof. João Silva)

The article PDF is attached.

Best regards,
João P. Silva

Tip

The more complete the report, the more accurate GridUnesp’s impact statistics will be.

Previous Publications Without Acknowledgment

If you have noticed that a previously published work did not include the acknowledgment of GridUnesp:

It is still advisable to send the information for:

  • Inclusion in the historical database

  • Counting in usage statistics

  • Support for funding requests

Procedure: Follow the same format above, simply noting that the work has already been published and the acknowledgment is missing.

Attention

Even posters and oral presentations at schools, workshops, and conferences that used GridUnesp resources can and should be reported for inclusion in the database.

Publication Statistics

Cumulative Data

Based on the publication information collected, the NCC/Unesp team built the charts below.

Cumulative year-by-year distribution:

The chart shows the evolution of the number of:

  • Published articles

  • Conference proceedings

  • Theses and dissertations

  • Submitted articles

  • Undergraduate research projects

Distribution by type of publication:

The chart below shows the cumulative total by category:

Grand total: More than 600 publications counted to date.

Complete List of Publications

The complete list of work produced with GridUnesp support is available at:

This list is updated periodically as new work is reported by users.

The list includes:

  • Full articles

  • Abstracts in proceedings

  • Theses and dissertations

  • Book chapters

  • Full papers at conferences

Note

If your work is not on the list, send the information to support.ncc@unesp.br following the procedure above.

Importance of Reporting

Why report your publications?

  1. Visibility: Demonstrates the scientific impact of GridUnesp

  2. Funding: Supports requests for upgrade resources

  3. Metrics: Allows evaluation of the return on infrastructure investment

  4. Recognition: Values the work of users and the technical team

  5. Collaboration: Makes it easier to identify potential partnerships
