Description
Ticket in GOC: https://ticket.grid.iu.edu/goc/viewer?id=8023
Hello,
I am trying to deploy and compile the E@OSG application on your resource. Unfortunately there are no C and C++ compilers installed on your resource. Would you please be so kind to install the GNU compiler collection and associated build tools such as autoconf and make?
In case your worker node architecture differs from the gatekeeper architecture, I would also need compilers on the worker nodes.
Thanks,
Robert

From Horst:
Hi Robert and Gabriel,
you're right, g++ doesn't seem to be installed at GridUNESP_CENTRAL,
but gcc certainly is installed. What makes you think that it isn't?
You're saying you need autoconf, too? That's not installed at OUHEP_OSG,
but your jobs seem to run fine there. Or are you different jobs there?
Also, I assume you're okay with gcc/g++/gfortran 4.1 -- or do you require
the 3.4 compat versions? Then again, it's probably a good idea
to install those, anyway.
Gabriel, from what I can see, you probably want to install these RPMs:
gcc-c++-4.1.2-46.el5_4.2
gcc-gfortran-4.1.2-46.el5_4.2
compat-gcc-34-3.4.6-4
compat-gcc-34-c++-3.4.6-4
compat-gcc-34-g77-3.4.6-4
Or whatever versions you get from your repos.
Robert, do you think that would cover it? Or do you know of other RPMs
which are most likely needed?
Thanks,

My replay:
Hi Robert and Horst,
We do have all this software installed in our worker nodes, including
automake and autoconf.
Since I'm new to OSG, I'm not aware of the best practice. But isn't
better to compile in the workernodes to avoid overload the CE?
I don't see any problem in installing the software in the CE. If you
prefer doing this way, just let me know.
Thanks,
Gabriel
P.S.: We just have a single architecture (amd64/x86_64).
